THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ARE:
Entry to the course is highly competitive. We look mainly for applicants who can show evidence of an original approach to their photography, as well as sufficient experience to exert satisfactory control over the photographic process, although gaps and deficiencies in these technical areas will be remedied during the early part of the course. Candidates portfolios of work may include prints or transparencies, colour or b + w. 35mm slides should be avoided. We are looking for photography that is adventurous and original, indicating imagination and ideas that candidates wish to develop. Examples of purely technical expertise and any drawings, designs, video tapes (VHS), notebooks are considered supporting evidence.

THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ARE:
(i) A 1st degree - from a Polytechnic Course in aspects of film/or TV production at BA level. (ii) A 1st degree - from a University Course and relate in some specific way to the further study of film at MA level. (iii) A BTEC Diploma from a Course specialising in film and/or television production recognised as being of high enough quality. All candidiates must submit an extenive portfolio of work: completed film, or video, and script material - providing evidence of a professional attitutde and technical expertise and demostrate they are able to work well within a group context.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
There are 3 conjoint Film & TV Production courses at the RCA: Film & TV Direction, Film & TV Production, and Design for Film & Television. Professor Christopher Miles is Course Director of all 3 courses. The RCA Course in Film & TV Direction is a practical/craft course, in which a high level of professional skill combined with originality and creativity is expected of all students. Much emphasis is placed on the development of ideas and scripting both for drama and documentary. Workshops in screenwriting, together with professionally orientated technical craft workshops constitute, alongside production, a major part of the first year programme.
