THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ARE:
Applicants must pass the University entrance examination which includes a
measurement of visual ability and motivation. A good knowledge of Finnish or
Swedish is essential although a range of courses can be undertaken by those
fluent in English. In this case previous experience in photography is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Courses in the University of Industrial Arts are a combination of studies
compulsory for all students and optional specialisations. The first two years
are concerned mainly with compulsory studies after which the student is allowed
to build his or her own programme. Included in the essential programme are
basic studies in photography, studies in studio arts (e.g. painting, drawing
and sculpture), and critism (familiarisation with ethic principles of art
critism).
